Haiti is a land of generals and slaves, scholars and seers; fertile mountains and barren valleys with a little-known history where the unbelievable has happened.


Haiti became the first Black independent nation in the world through the determination, strength and aptitude of the African slaves; a people who had been kidnapped, exploited, subjugated and violated, yet never broken. Since its independence, Haiti has remained proud and magnificent against the suppressive elements of nature and humankind alike: broken promises, natural disasters and political upheaval.


This section contains highlights that can serve as springboards for further research. We have focused on some key issues that may spark interest from several sectors: NGO’s, local and foreign business leaders and investors as well as governmental sectors.
